An Experimental Assay is a standardized measurement or diagnostic experiment using a specific protocol, applied to material from a study. Examples include RNA sequencing, proteomics, metabolomics, and many others.

There are many Experimental Assay Types to choose from, as well as many Technology Type. Moreover, one can create new types in both cases.

Finally, note that one may also associate this assay with one or more organisms, add samples, ...
